Victor, despite the weight of your car I don't think you are overloading 
your wheel bearings.  I believe the CRX shares its wheel bearings, as well 
as much of it suspension with the Civic and Integra.  The gross weight 
rating on the more heavily optioned Civics and Integras, and the Civic 
wagons should be higher than your CRX even in its current form.  My Civic 
was originally about 3400  pounds when it had the 26 Delphi batteries in it 
and suffered no ill effects.

One note on the wheel bearings though is to make sure you have them 
adjusted correctly.  A little too loose or too tight and the bearings will 
slowly destroy themselves.  Another point to check is the upper control 
arms.  Most 88-91 Civic/CRX upper control arms wear out after about 
100-150K miles, usually the right side one first.  This will really start 
to throw the alignment off.  Anyway, it is worth checking.
