If the battery were tied down with two half inch through bolts with large washers or plates from above, -any battery could be removed with only removing two tie down bolts, -the battery could sustain many more Gs of crash impact without coming loose, -if the case cracked, the battery would not come loose, -battery racks could be stacked using the same tie down bolts -the lid can be through bolted to the bottom of the battery box increasing rigidity.
