I now have a vision of an EV with a battery box made from 4" PVC pipes.
Just unscrew the end cap and start pushing the cells in, just like loading
up a flash light.

More I think about it the more I like the idea. The 4" PVC pipe could be
replaced with steel or some fancy plastic composite and do double duty as
the frame for the vehicle, thinking trucks.

Also with single cells you would not have the large flat area on the top so
the cells could stand a higher pressure before venting.

The cells could have male threads on one end and female threads on the other
(thinking maybe a pipe thread) so that they could be screwed together,
making a very short high current cell to cell connection.

Sorry if this was sent more then once, I had a problem with the computer
this morning.

The individual cell suggestion caught us all flat-footed; never once
considered doing that. That one's going to take some thought. (Doncha just
*hate* it when a customer comes up with a use for your product that had
never entered your mind? Your first reaction is always "Now why didn't *I*
think of that?" and you go kick yourself down the hall to pop machine. I
mean, we'd thought of stuff like that with Inspira, just never carried it
over towards Optima. The two products were so different. Or are they?)

Thanks again for the ideas, folks.

Have fun,
