...and indeed they have! We bought 4 replacement Optimas, and then do
have a lip around the top of the grey case right even with the yellow
top.

Will do! My thoughts:

1. Offer a terminal option that provides either a threaded stud or a
   thru-hole for a bolt. The automotive posts are good for high
currents,
   but a royal pain to connect together in large arrays.

2. How about sealing each cell from its neighbor, so acid doesn't cause
   leakage paths from once cell to the next. This would of course
require
   a separate vent for each cell. I think the Inspira does this? The six
   separate vents would make it easier to add water to a cell if ever
   necessary.

3. Stagger the cells and eliminate the excess material around the
   top so multiple battery arrays pack hexagonally.
