Just found one of the Ranger Optimas that was unable to charge has the same problem. It was fit into tight spaces, and the lid cracked open. The battery dealer replaced it, and said that isn't supposed to happen. He mentioned that since Johnson took over the cases seem to be glued, not welded, and wondered if that might be half of the issue.
