One of the more high-profile lithium battery fires is the one which nearly
totaled singer Neil Young's converted Lincoln Continental, the Lincvolt.
When it happened, there was quite a bit of debate here and elsewhere about
the possible causes, but I don't recall reading what the conclusion was.
Does anyone know?

In any case, although the car was very badly fire-damaged, they've rebuilt
it (at enormous cost I'm sure) as a series hybrid powered by grid
electricity and "cellulosic biomass."
