One of the more high-profile lithium battery fires is the one which nearly totaled singer Neil Young's converted Lincoln Continental, the Lincvolt. When it happened, there was quite a bit of debate here and elsewhere about the possible causes, but I don't recall reading what the conclusion was. Does anyone know? In any case, although the car was very badly fire-damaged, they've rebuilt it (at enormous cost I'm sure) as a series hybrid powered by grid electricity and "cellulosic biomass." http://www.lincvolt.com/ David Roden - Akron, Ohio, USA EVDL Administrator = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = EVDL Information: http://www.evdl.org/help/ = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Note: mail sent to "evpost" and "etpost" addresses will not reach me.
