It is my opinion that one does not need any "smart" charger to charge lithium. One needs only to assure that the charger gets turned off whenever any single cell reaches an upper voltage threshold. It is nice for balancing, but not necessary, if the charger tapers off current as the pack approaches the expect maximum voltage. -- Willie, ONWARD!
