I am not sure if his reply to me came thru to the list properly so I felt I 
should mention that Dennis Berube emailed me regarding this thread that he has 
a GE Electrak that is missing the mover deck and needs batteries otherwise 
functional that he will sell for $ 250 FOB Phoenix. Thats what I was talking 
about in my last reply. If interested contact Dennis off list. You could try

I'm no expert, but it seems to me that a more realistic approach would be to 
move your conversion parts into a more efficient tractor.  I hear (right 
here ;-) that hydrostatic drives are painfully inefficient.

The old GE Elec-Trak tractors can usually mow a couple of acres on 6 golf 
car batteries, even when the batteries have a few seasons' worth of use. 
That's a benchmark of sorts, I'd say.
