What astounds me is that the myth of a "free market" system persists. From the dawn of commerce, regardless of what form it takes, every player tries to skew the system to their advantage, which means to the disadvantage of everyone else. Selective regulation through the buying off of "public" servants is only one of the uglier tricks.
Anyone who tells you a free market system is possible where human nature is involved is either a liar or a fool. If Tesla can lead us to a day where no one is forced to buy a car from a dealer, that will be every bit as big a contribution to society as popularizing EVs.
