Shutting down the charger (via CAN bus) or removing (AC) power from the charger via a relay would be a safer way to resolve a "cell high" alarm when charging. [Or disabling regen if high-cell when driving...]

In a "cell low" situation, a warning buzzer or reduction of throttle range (limp mode) is the safe way to allow the driver to park the vehicle safely.
