My case in point is over the last couple of years we have switched from natural gas for heating and cooking. It was the pandemic and we drove much less but with the use of electric space heaters, induction cooking, heat pump clothes drying, electric hot water heater(old school)
I heat my house, make hot water, and cook (except for the microwave) with natural gas. I can do all that for less than electric heating one room part time. I'm in no hurry to move away from natural gas for making heat.
