In our case I think it is the clerk's trying to complete the check in too fast. Evergreen isn't as fast as we think it is sometimes.

For our library, it is to cut down on human error.  Sometimes it happens because the clerk is not paying attention as they scan for check-in, but I think it is often a clerk getting distracted before they scan the book and then laying the book down with the scanned ones by mistake.

We have had some issues with items getting to the shelves and not getting checked in. We are a small library and have two pages; noRFID or automatic sorters.

 

We were going to add a double check to our process but not sure of the best way to do that without recording double stats.
