But then there are atheists that have strong believes that feel religious again. One example is the strong belief that consciousness is a byproduct of matter. This is a common belief nowadays. To be fair, it seems to be a belief "by default" by educated people. I have confronted some friends with the implications of this belief and they seem to change easily to "I don't know" when thinking more deeply about it. But other people are strongly attached to it.
