Bruno,
the case where you may be wrong is *"death penalty...does not deter people
to kill..." *not even the perpetrator(?)
except when (s)he is the executed person. Many killers kill again, not the
dead ones.
There is a 'human' emotion to GET EVEN, kill the killer, while there is a
large international movement for forgiveness
and refrain from descending to the lowly level of the criminal.
The movement is fleurishing in Europe.
