Could you explain in a few words why an IS would look like the CMBR? All I
know about it so far is that it gives equal flux from all directions. And
I'm presuming that it is a physical object - a real sphere of material,
which does have a centre somewhere, and which forms the limits of the
visible universe.

Those aren't the only alternatives. However, the simplest answer is yes, it
probably does. (Why not?)
