Steve: and why is it so remarkable? Communication keeps the world churning,
inert singularities(?) would not survive. We (humans) imagine that our
"language" (maybe the most sophisticated WE KNOW ABOUT) - i s -
communication. I also question the difference spelled out (?) between
instinctive and developed (if this is the right word). Bees' dance is
highly sophisticted language, much more so than *human* (primitive?)
dancing -which only follows urges to express rhythm and emotions. You may
call it some (abstract?) communication, but not close to giving
'intructions' about WHERE to find and WHAT kind of NECTAR. (I may be wrong
in this).

I already mentioned my thought about PLANTS' communication and propsed it
as (their?) language to which we have no receiving capability (only after
the facts by human analysis).
About the (inert?) rocks? we observe them in OUR narrow range of data.
Look at the lava movements, or the crystalline deposits (conglomeration?)
of cool/hot liquid solutions. If they lead to a 'result', they
communicated. ANY result. Don't even mention the communication of
waterflows/bodies...
