Eventually I conclude that atheism is *really* the religious mirror of christianity. They have the same notion of God (even if it is used only to be denied) and they have the same notion of primary matter (modulo some details).
Exactly. The same notion of "God" used by everybody who prays to a god, has faith in a god, and has a religion based on a god. Atheists are quite clear on what sort of being they do not believe exists and you are the only person I know who seems to think it is a fault to be clear about ones meaning.

So atheists therefore leave the door open to definitions of God other than the ones for which they have been clear there is no evidence? Is that what you are saying? I don't think So.
Neither do I. "God" has a fairly clear common meaning,

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........nope

It must be an amazing coincidence that all these people seem to have a similar understanding of the term.

That would be the case with Earth is flat, if we did not progress and abandon the argument per-authority in the field.

Atheists believes so much in the christian God that they defend the dogma, instead of improving the concept.

You confirm my theory: atheists are christian in disguise, or at least their de facto ally.

but when I want to be really precise I may say "Abrahamic God" or "God of monotheism".

Why not go the whole hog and really nail it: Aristotle's Matter God. It comes to that, surely. The buck stops here. With God. You cannot pass the problem further down the line! No further thinking possible or required. Act. Once the G word is used in thinking, it's kind of like the sound of a rifle being cocked. Trouble is G is always on my side and I'm maybe halfway insane as it is.

What about the definition of God that you don't pray to, don't have faith in, don't know of any religion about? Are atheists OK with that, are they?
Like "God is love."

That's fine. Can't see any problems with that.

or "God is goodness."

Depends who G's showering the goodness on. What if I don't like them?

or "God is money."

Yes, the Wolf of Wall Street really rammed that home.

I'm OK with metaphor. As to the god(s) of religions I don't know about...well, I don't know about them.

I'll let you get away with that barefaced lie Brent Meeker only because it is Xmas, NY and in addition, my birthday.

You think I'm lying that I don't know about the gods of religions I don't know about?? There used to be Church in Dallas whose doctrine was that God is whatever is good. That's a God you can at least root for (one of the things that is good is being tax exempt).

OK; but it is still not serious theology, although a slight progress in mind flexibility.

And Jesus said unto them, "And whom do you say that I am?"
They replied, "You are the eschatological manifestation of
the ground of our being, the ontological foundation of
the context of our very selfhood revealed."
And Jesus replied, "What??"

Love it. Love it.
