    Sure. General relativity gives us the idea of a 4-dimensional
    Lorentzian manifold, over which one can lay a coordinate chart.
    But that is not an ontology.


But my point is it could be (and that it is a simpler theory if it is).

But the inference often drawn from this picture is hyper-determinism.  Hyper-determinism isn't impossible, but it's not implied by the fact that there can be 4-space map for labeling events.
