My only complaint about NTBackup is the logging. I think it only keeps last 10 logs in the Documents and Settings subdirectory which belongs to the account that NTBackup runs as.

Each full was kept in its own folder: Good (1 day old), Bad (2 days old), Ugly (3 days old). We just scripted it so that after NTbackup did its thing we rotate the backups out and what was in Ugly goes to tape. If you can afford to keep your Exchange fulls on disk and rotate them like this, it speeds up recovery time quite a bit (being on gigabit ethernet helps as well).
