Aside: Isn't "Sambabox" the Netbios name of the Windows machine in this case? The Sambabox that smbclient is trying to connect to is the Windows box where WINDOWUSER exists? Statement: My Windows user names are typically of the form <first name> <M.I.> <last name> (with spaces. Fortunately, this will work if enclosed in quotes after the -U. Piggybacked Question: Does anybody know how to change the user name on a Windows box short of reinstalling Windows from scratch? (Knowing what I know now, I'll consider changing my user name to a single word. However, Windows picks up the user name and uses it for some things (like the author of a document in Word 97, IIRC) where it is nice to have your full name specified (instead of something like rhkramer).
