If so, open 'regedit', navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup Here you should see the two keys showing the data to change. Dbl/click to edit. Thanks for the response to my original question about samba. This was resolved by the first suggestion this morning. touched the file /etc/smbpasswd added the user david and added the token in smb.config to encrypt passwords = yes and all works fine. HTH Dave
