Yes but Vmware and your Win98 dual booted machine are not actually on
the same subnet!

Also are BOTH members of the same workgroup?

I do not understand though, why the the vmware win98 works ok but the
booted win98 does not. The windows user name and password are the same
as the the vmware windows username and password. I know that I may not
understand the background communication between the clients, but logic
would suggest that what works for one should work for the other.
