Well Chuck, I am also a CVT fan, that is why I want to add an engine not
eliminate the 2 stroke CVT.

On your other point about the magic of coil overs & shocks. Last season
Brian won the Cen-div with our old (used to be legal) Rakavon. While we did
not race head to head against the FFords, Brian's fasted race lap, including
at the RUNOFFS was faster than the fasted Fford on 4 weekends & also at the
RUNOFFS where they certainly had the fasted Fords in the country. This year
in our newly revamped Rakavon Brian raced head to head against some really
decent Fords at IRP & won the race OVERALL. So it looks to me like a
current top F500 can run with q $40K Fford.

Thanks ... Jay Novak

Jay,
While a 6 speed might mean something to some people, F500 ought to look
carefully at more than that.

In my experience, most people, once they see the solid rear end and lack of
coils springs and lack of true shocks just shake their heads and walk away.

They think: "big, evil handling go-kart that will hurt my back".

I reckon that most of the Solo and road racing population with true shocks
has been totally spoiled by the magic that those devices perform.

Just as a 6 speed may not be any faster than a CVT,
it doesn't matter a bit to them if you are quick with rubber pucks

It is a perception thing too.

>From my own standpoint, I wouldn't leave the class if these cars had coils
overs, IRS, and wings;
the powerplant woudn't matter as much as long as it fed a CVT.
I'd still prefer a CVT very much because the faster you go in Solo the less

you care to take even a finger off of the steering wheel.

Chuck
