Chris,
I re-viewed my tape again, too. They actually talked about the engines 4
times. I think the 4th time is when I heard the false quote. Trouble is,
I manually taped the race without comercials and missed the beginning of
the 4th reference about engines. I am now wondering if I just heard it
wrong? Oh well, no biggy, really. What they should have said was, "
There are legal engines for this class from 4 different engine
manufacturers, but the favorite for road racing is the Rotax engine that
came in Ski-Doo snowmobiles." The runoffs drivers all had 493's or
494's. I bet nobody has run anything at the Runoffs other than Rotaxes
for 5 years or more?

I watched the tape this morning. They referred to the engine three
separate
times. First, they said that the class required a snowmobile sourced
engine, or similar wording. Second, they said that all of the cars
"today"
are running a Rotax engine, "though that is not required." Third, the
guy
squatting next to the car talking about pucks, said that the Rotax
engine
was required.

How many folks at runoffs were running non-Rotax engines? Not unusual
in
autocrossing, I thought non-Rotax cars were rare in road racing.

>> Sean,
I believe you need to go back to your tape of the runoffs race. They
said, "Mandatory rotax snowmobile engine." Unless they talked about it
twice in the hour show, and I somehow missed the other quote?
