If the cost of all things are added in, I am in big trouble with my budget. Most of the people I know don't count inital cost Car (3 f500's, mazda miata, 3 go karts, 1 formula vee, this year), Trailer (22 ft enclosed), Tow vechile ( 40' Grey hound Bus), 3 firesuits, 1 new helment, 4 pairs of shoes, underwear, GPS moitoring device, welding machine, lath, jump box, hotel for the week when we race out of town times 3, entry fees to 24 events. 3 schools, ETC. So far this year that would be scarrrry to know how much I've spent. My accountant should know. But if you can do this on a budget I think that less than 1000.00 per race could be a very good number. How much you want too run and how fast you want to go will dictate how much you spend. The good thing about f500 is that the field is pretty level so having deep pockets or lack of, dosen't automaticely give you an edge.
