/ I like Yamaha's crankcase sealant,( for the case halves) others have their own preferred goo./

Do you goo around the seals at both ends and around the seals in the center of the crank too, Dave?

/ After market head gaskets preferred over the pain in the butt
factory style

I got some of those, thank god.

Ignition timing is more accurate using a piston stop and degree wheel,
but I think the dial indicator method will be close enough.

Isn't timing pretty much fixed by the stator and keyway on the crankshaft, Dave? From what I know, ( admittedly this is very little), there is only a few degrees of adjustability and that is determined by moving the stator, or am I missing something here?

Next year should be a lot more fun if you don't have to fight with the [EMAIL PROTECTED]&* engine.....of course something else is always waiting!

I sure hope so! And, I'm expecting ZERO trouble next year, because there is almost NO part of this car that I haven't had apart repaired or overhauled bringing it up to what I consider acceptable standard. I started at the crush box, went on to over haul the pedal assembly, steering shaft, front wheel alignment, body panels rebuilt, rewired front to back, cooking system upgrades with electric fan and all new hoses. The list goes on and on. This is going to be a GREAT car by anyone's measure, when I'm done with it.

Beer?! I started drinking again after two years of not touching the stuff. Boy is it GOOD!
