John, I have no idea what a "solo sprint" is unless you're talking about the old Solo I track event. Is that what you mean?
If you are talking about a Level 3 Time Trial event, then you can check on things on line at SCCA's web page. Look for the 2006 Time Trials Rules, the 2007 rules haven't been finalized yet. BTW, since this program has now been placed in the racing area, I would expect more regulation then in the Solo Program :-(. If you are talking about the Solo Trials program, well that's a different animal too :-).
