John, What Jay quotes has to do with racing(GCR)only. Solo participation does not have such requirements for forward facing braces. In fact, they prefer rearward facing braces and say that in the rules. Also, in Solo, the dimensions of such braces and roll bar hoops are not as stringent as racing.
So bottom line racing or Solo, the rules are different.
