you can follow this link to fsae rules, a lot fo them were originally copied
right out of the scca f500 and gcr, they have been reworked quite a bit the
last 5 years but the original wording and diagrams you will see here came
right out of our book
the throttle restrictor is 20mm which is tiny,
And none of this matters anyway, this thread comes up every 3 or 4 month's
gets done to death with everyone wishfull thinking and the end result will
be
"it doesnt coincide with the original intent of the classrules"
it doenst matter if you have 99% of the f500 racers on board , its been
proven time and time again
the board will turn down any changes in this class reguardless of any of the
circumstances.
this is the only club where You pay all the bills for all of thier spending,
they take the club money and spend on thier precious PRO series, and yet you
have absolutely no say in what goes on in the scca, the rules for your OWN
classes etc. ITs a futile effort and this alone has caused more people not
to get into F500 than anything else. Hell you can't even get a piece of
rubber swapped out, to alleviate unnecessary breaking and safety concerns,
if i remember correctly the original intent of the class was to be low
cost......... replacing broken a-arms and frame welding doesnt seem too low
cost. So i guess the original intent of the class doesn't count here, only
where its convenient for the bod to supress the f500 community. I loved
racing the f500 class and Ive been staring at a half complete f500 car in my
garage for 3 years now and to tell you the truth i dont think im ever going
to get the motivation to finish it because of the bs ive seen come from the
scca and thier total disregard for the paying members. There is absolutely no
excuse for any class to be swept under the rug the way we have been. SO make
sure you all renew your memberships on time and pay all your fees, The Pro
series need some advertising $$$ for this year, and there too busy approving
all the rules changes in the other classes to notice you.

FSAE allows all kinds of engine mods so I don't think we could get much
from them except how to make it expensive. They havwe lots of
information but none of it based around cheap (or dependable) horsepower.
