I used to tow with a Jeep Cherokee with 4WD.....during the 9 years and
220,000 miles I put on it I had to actually use the 4WD 4 times
I tow with a 1997 VW Golf 1.8 liter. No problems at all. Anything more is
overkill.
Of course, I am a cheap Dutchman. ;-)
