Hey Gene, Jen Berry here: When Steve's cell went out, we used the cell from my MK-5 that had never been run to ship to Fuel Safe in Bend, Oregon. They used the cell to make a mold, and it DID only cost $600. Then they shipped both cells back to us.
I'm sure if you call them they may still have the dimensions on file. They made Steve's cell in 2001. If they don't, then we'll see if we still have the an old cell here that we can lend you to ship to them to make a mold. Don't EVER give up hope, Gene. It's AMAZING what happens when you start asking for help. It comes from the strangest of places..... Best of luck!!!
