And, I wouldn't turn my nose up at a nice slice of steak'n'kidney
pie. But, that's dogfood compared to the meal we had at a roadside
family-run restaurant in the middle of rural Bordeaux wine country.
The place was full of local vineyard/winery workers, and we were the
only foreigners there. The food was not as elaborate as what you'd
find at a place with a mention in the Michelin Guide, but it
reflected France's culture of culinary excellence.
