Ive always been a tad putoff by the mood-making of the TMO. Certainly, I've
been guilty of
it, but looking back, I think it was just a youthful need to belong to some
group and share
their values and beliefs. I've never been good at that, to be honest. I recall
in Unitarian
sunday school that I genuinely upset the sunday school teacher by suggesting
that rather
than being the Son of God, perhaps Jesus was some kind of psychic (this ws
about age 9
or 10 I think). She looked very disgruntled. I don't know if it was because she
agreed but
felt compelled to keep to the scheduled reading of liberal Christian stuff, or
if she believed
the liberal Christian stuff, but didn't want to cause a scene by disagreeing
with me.

I also once got a Unitarian church secretary upset to the point that she
claimed I didn't
understand the "unitarian way." The minister, a friend of mine, had a good
laugh at that
one: "what a concept!"
