Same reason you do. He's expecting them to treat his words as cosmic pronouncements, go "Woooooo! That's kosmic, dude," and treat the speaker with a kind of reverent awe, doing exactly what he says to do and thinking exactly what he wants them to think. Get over that thing, become willing to *listen* to the responses (or the resounding silence) when you make your pronouncements, and you might find a better response to the things you say. As it is now, there's far too much "me" in the me*ssage.
