Subject: [FairfieldLife] The Investment Follies (was Re: PREPARE FOR GLOBAL
COOLING!)

I have the same feeling Barry. And I worry about some of my long time
friends who are still heavily invested in the TMO and MMY. When the
movement implodes after MMY leaves town (I envision a financial tug of
war between various Shrivastava and Varma factions....those outside
the family don't have a prayer IMO) there may be a boom in mid and
late life crisis exit counseling in FF.

On the bright side, there are some good things happening in the movement. TM
is being taught in some inner-city high schools with great success and in
some other schools around the world. There are some bright, balanced people
trying to do things efficiently and ethically. It may be that they and their
efforts will rise to the top like cream, and perhaps even form their own
autonomous factions (although they’re pretty loyal folks), and that the
weirder stuff will splinter off. I don’t think the whole thing is going to
die. The official movement may continue to whither, if it doesn’t change,
but various unofficial offshoots may thrive. There may also be divisions
within the movement, as there are now, whose benefactors protect them from
cash-sucking Indian nephews by insisting that their continued support is
conditional upon their direct oversight.
