It's very hard to gain the trust of a feral cat, much less ever make it into a "happy" housecat. Hopefully since she's most likely been an outdoor feral cat all her life, she knows what the road is and stays away from it. Feral cats can live many happy years in exactly your situation, with a barn for shelter, and food and water left out for them. Don't feel bad that you couldn't tame her, it was unlikely from the start. You are doing everything right, just continue to feed her and offer her shelter, and you will be a GREAT feral caretaker!

I would, however, trap her and get her spayed ASAP, if you hadn't had it done before her escape.

I collect KMR kitten formula labels for Bazil, a 3 yr old special needs cat who must live on a liquid diet for the rest of his life.
Bazil's caretaker collects labels and sends them to KMR, where they add up until she earns a free can of formula!
PLEASE save your KMR kitten formula labels for Bazil!

If you use KMR, even just one can, please ask me for the mailing address you can send them to, to help feed Bazil!
