Well, Lucy is off all anti-nausea meds and fluids, only on metronidazole and pred, and is eating well and acting like her normal self (except not ambushing Patches at the litter box).  And she is only having stool about once every 16 hours or so. The problem is that when she has it is is liquid.  The weird thing, though, is that it is only a very small quantity, and so infrequent, given that she is eating a normal amount, or close to it.  I don't know what is going on. I definitely don't think she has lost any more weight, and I think she may have gained an ounce or two. It's hard to tell exactly on my scale, as it is sensitive only to the half pound, but while she was wavering between 8.0 and 7.5 on my scale at the time she weighed 8.2 at the vet's on Friday, she is now wavering between 8.0 and 8.5 (was 8.5 last night and 8.0 this morning), which I am assuming means she is now closer to 8.5 (hoping, anyway).

I had an interesting thought.  Around the time (I wish I could remember the exact sequence, but I was not paying attention to it) that her diarrhea started, I had switched from corn litter to pine litter (I was afraid the corn litter was attracting mice into the house, since Lucy was killing them all the time).  I thought yesterday that maybe this was affecting her, if she was licking pine off her paws, so I switched back last night. My mom then did an internet search and found a website that said that in some cats the pine oil can cause digestive problems or even IBD (which Lucy already had).  So I am wondering if (hoping that) the litter is what caused her symptoms.  However, unless her liquid stool clears up, we are still going to the internist at Red Bank on Thursday. I have been hoping she would be better by then, because she hates car rides so much and it is over an hour. But then when I read that some of you have to drive several hours to get to a specialty hospital, I feel grateful it is only a little over an hour.

Thanks for all your help and suggestions,
Michelle
