Honestly I wouldn't take the chance until I called the company and
asked them specifically if there was any onion in any form in it, that
is my own personal opinion .. I know a lot of things that don't say
onion on the label have it in the food as flavoring. The one that is
really tricky are the ones that say natural flavor.
I would be afraid to risk it especially with a positive who is already
struggling with a weakened immune system. I am over cautious I guess.
