most sanctuaries are just that: they are sanctuaries, for unwanted cats, and
do NOT have active adoption programs. if the cats were easily adoptable,
well......

it's too easy to forget that sanctuaries are NOT shelter where the public is
welcome to wander around whenever they'd like: sanctuary is HOME, to the
cats who may never have known one, and to the humans who keep them company.

that seems like a VERY VERY high donation, especially considering how upset
some folks got with the $500 requested for snowball just recently!!!

the other thing is that most FeLVs and FIVs are NOT coming from families,
they are coming from shelters and rescues--maybe the high fee is to balance
out those who have no families? (why does this feel like another chapter in
the health-care debate, i wonder?)
