Jill,
I'm sorry to hear of the difficult time you're having with your newly adopted kitty.  I am convinced that animals (and people for that matter), will fight harder for life when there's someone who loves them and doesn't want them to leave.  You're obviously a loving, compassionate woman.  The money, time and anguish you've expended on this sweet helpless little angel tells me that you have it in you to make a commitment to her for life (no matter how long that life turns out to be).  Please think about letting her know that she's your kitten, no matter what.  Give her a name and permanent place in your heart.  Could you really relinquish her into someone else's care at this point?  Even if the worst happens and she has to be helped to cross over, at least she'll have known the love of  people who cared enough to endure the heartache that comes when we can't save them.

Much love to you,
Nina

What we had been thinking about naming her (before we
thought she would die within the week) is "Gary".
Which is not very feminine but it's short for
garrulous - one of those cute, ironic names because
she doesn't ever meow. EVER.

It's also the name of Spongebob Squarepants' pet
snail, although I think he is a boy snail. :)

I have told her if she starts eating on her own she
will get a new bed to sleep in and a name!

oh gosh, you are a saint. I'm coming back as one of
your pets. Here's
rooting for the kitty to keep showing interest in
eating and hopefully
ending up with a name!
