Everything I've ever been told about washing fleece has contained the warning
that fiber shouldn't be completely stripped of lanolin. A 'tiny bit' means just
that--a tiny bit. Enough for the fiber to feel alive, but not enough to leave
any residue on hands or fiber equipment. The little bit that is left, will be
washed out when the yarn is washed, and again when the finished product is
washed.

The other thing we need to keep in mind, is that location and water chemicals
play a big part in getting fiber clean. What works in one area, may not work in
another. We all know that there are no absolutes, in the area of fiber washing.
