Try putting the curtains in a solution of the fizzy denture cleaner type
stuff. It's worked for us when trying to clean up antique laces. Golly,
with curtains you may need a lot of those tablets but it's sure worth a try
and won't damage the cotton at all.

I'm wondering if bleach will work, or if something else will be better.
They're 100% cotton, I think both are size 10 bedspread cotton of decent
brands.
