Hi Holly,
Re : method for removing stains from lace :
I do know a good solution for this... I have a large collection of antique
lace and learned that any discoloration or stains (with the exception of a
particular medicine that used to be given, which leaves dark brown stains on
dish towels and dresser scarves -- I forget the name of the medicine right
now...) can be removed by soaking in a solution of Ivory Snow and water,
then put out in the sun. The Ivory Snow comes in a box and used to be
common in grocery stores, but now you have to request it in many cases. This
is really effective and safe even for old pieces. Rinse out the dried
solution afterwards -- and dry -- before storing or using the piece.
