I think they can define what the breed started as and what it is in Britten.
However since the English exported sheep all over the world, they have
changed a lot. I think what you have to do is say "American Dorset's have
this characteristic". Or "Australian cheviots have that characteristic" just
a change in the climate and feed will change a breed. However if they are
still purebred Dorset's or cheviots then why would you change the name? The
breeds are more than their wool as well. In many parts of the world the wool
is secondary. There is no market for Canadian Wool. It costs more to sheer
it than you get for it.
