Don't forget yarns can be sized before weaving, which makes life much
eaiser, especially for yarns (singles or plied) with long fibers :)
Also, singles are not necessarily weaker than plied yarns. Plying takes
some twist out of the singles going into the yarn. If the singles were
somewhat low-twist to start with (say, 20 degrees twist angle or less),
plying will make for a weaker, not a stronger, yarn, than the singles
would have been.
I don't know when I'm going to try weaving with handspun angora, but it
will definitely be as singles. The colors of angora are too lovely to
muddy them with plying.
