Michael Edwards.

[Keith Helgesen:]

>Michael- remember the Aussie expression "come in spinner"!

Never heard of it before, and I don't know what it means.

>I suspect your indignant reactions to some of the points made are amusing folks
>so much that a few are having fun.

I can't help what other people find funny. It's nothing different from
many other debates on similar topics before. Maybe I got drawn in more than I
meant to.
The fact is, people have found fault with my e-mail style, and not *one*
has specified what is wrong. It seemed reasonable to ask for more specifics on
that, and I believe I have discussed the matter reasonably throughout.

>I honestly think you've had a bundle of good advice,

I appreciate that. Thanks to all who gave it.

>plus a bit of leg-pulling! Take the advice, grin at the leg-pulls,

If there has been leg-pulling, I haven't recognized it. It sounded pretty
serious to me, even a bit nit-picking (I assume you're talking about the e-mail
style).

>don't spit the dummy,

In what way have I spat the dummy? (I thought *that* saying meant
retreating from a debate before it's finished, which clearly is not what you
think I've done here.)

>and back off!

Back off? Because I recognize I'm wrong? But that is not clear yet. I
can't concede that when I don't know what is being referred to.
I started a further response to Patrick's comments. Okay, I'll think about
whether to send it or not, and do my best not to; maybe that would overdo it.
But it has been stated that I don't follow certain practices that I clearly *do*
follow, and possibly there are other still unspecified things I do differently
from others.
I'll let it go for now, then, unless someone likes to tell me what I've
done wrong.

                         Regards,
                          Michael Edwards.
