Well, I'm glad to hear that someone thinks my style is acceptable. Thanks.
I really had wondered what my sin was.

It doesn't bother me. While I prefer plain text, all other things being
equal, I think the inconvenience of H.T.M.L. has been grossly exaggerated at
times, and objections to it sometimes seem to take on an ideological flavour. I
wouldn't want to exclude anyone who has to use H.T.M.L. for reasons outside
their control.
However, I would want to consider changing providers (if possible), if the
way they were set up enforced a style of e-mail I didn't like, or didn't let me
choose my own style, but dictated one to me. Is your account web-based,
Lawrence?

If setting it like this would make it impossible for some people to post
because they have no choice but to use H.T.M.L., I would not support setting it
like this. But wouldn't setting it thus simply convert the message to plain
text, leaving the content untouched?
I know the Orchestra List is set up like this, and it seems to work, as far
as I can see. It's a Yahoo! list, and some lists there are set up to put, at
the top of each e-mail, an intensely irritating and offensively intrusive
advertising *graphic* (! - not just a few text lines of advertising at the
bottom). Even worse, some lists on Yahoo! seem to change all e-mail to H.T.M.L.
(complete with graphic) - even if you explicitly post in plain text. But this
doesn't seem to happen on the Orchestra List.

                         Regards,
                          Michael Edwards.
