Well, that's what the "From" field is for, so it seems superfluous to me... > Well, I'm glad to hear that someone thinks my style is acceptable. > Thanks. I really had wondered what my sin was. It's not a matter of sin. Philip Aker was referring to your eye for detail. There is a long established tradition of formatting emails, especially replies, which is that you start by stating who you're replying to, quoting relevant text with a ">" or "|" in front of it etc. You choose to use another method, which is not a problem at all (although I prefer the described style, since my mailer colorizes different levels of nested replies that way). However, your own style, logical as it may be, is not what others will be accustomed to. This may sound as nonsense to you, but many people who follow several lists and read a lot of email each day, prefer *not* to have to deal with lots of different formatting schemes. You may also choose your own way of laying out and formatting musical scores. As long as your style is consistent, there isn't necessarily a problem with that. However, if you want to make a career in music engraving, it will certainly help to conform to established (but maybe unofficial) standards of engraving, even if you think that your personal style is good enough. I think that's why Philip mentioned your email style as a point of reference to your mentioned concern with details. _____________________ Patrick Hubers [EMAIL PROTECTED] Solve IT Postbus 5063 3502 JB Utrecht _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
