I have told Coda repeatedly and without exaggeration that Coda is by far the buggiest piece of commercial software I have on my computer. I don't think anything else even comes close.

Yes, I agree. I'd even set my sights somewhat lower than yours and still be willing to pay more than the usual upgrade price for a product that was actually better.
