Hi Johannes,
Well, the thing is, I *need* all of the third party plugins I have installed (which are just TGTools, Patterson Plugins, and Copyist's Helper). And I think most people on the list use these (or, at least, the first two) without any adverse effects on general Finale stability.
Of course, there are various issues with some of these plugins which cause Finale to crash when you do certain things in the plugin (like the "move a dialog box" crashes in TGTools), but I don't think these plugins can cause Finale to become less stable when you're not actual invoking a plugin, can they?
I could disable plugins for troubleshooting purposes, but that would make it almost impossible to get actual work done, and I would have to run Finale for a very long time to determine with any certainty whether doing this actually helped. As I said, since installing the processor upgrade, my Finale crashes come far less frequently (while I did have two Finale crashes yesterday, I'm hoping those are now the exception, not the rule).

I suppose it's possible that something has gone wrong with my Finale preferences and that is causing the app to crash, but that seems unlikely to me. Nevertheless, I will try resetting my preferences.
But again, Finale is the *only* OS X application that ever crashes on me.
Another idea: Could it be that you have a problematic plugin installed?
Perhaps you should disable all plugins and see whether this makes Finale
more stable.
